Hello and welcome to Best Walks…  I’m David Marshall, Dáithí to some of my family and friends. Other projects took me away for a couple of years, but now I’m back rambling and writing. So I hope you take the opportunity to follow the blog, it’s completely free and a by-product of my own adventures, my work as a writer and my research for my other published work.

I’m planning on a regular variety of features, which should include:

1:  A commentary about a walk or a walking area.
2:  News from the landscape; places and projects
3:  A Rambling Skill – from maps to ropes
4:  Who’s That? About individuals and organisatons
5: What to wear? What use?  Gear advice & reviews.

Follow the blog by email and you’ll get each of these features emailed to you as it is published.  To follow in this way just click on the button in the right hand column (below the NEW NAME explanation) that says “FOLLOW BEST WALKS”

Bits of info: If you are a fan, or even just a user, of those “social media” platforms to which most of us seem to be addicted (thank goodness for wild wifi-free places) then you might enjoy connecting with Best Walks on one of these:

I’m pretty active on Twitter, because it gives me a chance to listen to what others are saying about my past-times and hobbies: walking, rambling, backpacking and camping. And you can send me a DM (direct message) there.
